Lynn has been following in the footsteps of her father and
uncle for quite a number of years now and in that time has developed a
style that while owing to Dawson is all her own. She has also been
venturing of late into folder making. Her work is very reasonably
priced and delivers the same quality and functionality we have come to
expect from any knife made in the Dawson shop. She likes working in
exotic woods and stabilised materials. Her designs are a bit less
restrained than her uncle's. Lynn's biggest fan is hubby Dennis Cook
who has also become a fine knifemaker so it looks like she really
doesn't mind being around knives. Sometimes a person finds they have a
particular talent. Lynn walks the line between the working knife and
the high end collectible with a surety that shows she has found hers.
Lynn holds a no refund policy on cancelled orders.
The wood that Lynn uses on her handles is laminated and stabilised for years of durable service and lasting beauty.
Contact Lynn for prices on woods such as Maple Burl California Buckeye, etc.

I became interested in knives in the
mid 1990's, when I went to Colorado to visit my uncle. I had been
raised around knives, as my dad and uncle made them. hut I never
realized what interesting and useful tools they were until that visit.
A few days later I asked my uncle if he would teach me how to make
knives. He ageed, to my surprise. I started it as a hobby working on
knives whenever I came to visit. I enjoyed doing it so much it began
taking up more and more of my time, until my uncle suggested l go to a
knife show, to display my work. The first show I ever went to was Knife
Expo 99. I was so amazed when I won an award for my work at that show.
I was even more thrilled when later in the year) I was voted to make
the Arizona Knife Collectors Assc. 99' club knife. Now I'm making
knives full time, and as I improve at it I find that I am enjoying it
even more.
